類似表現との違い
「read aloud」も「声に出して読む」という意味で、「read out」と非常に近いですが、「read out」は特定の情報（例：リスト、メッセージ、報告書など）を「誰かに聞かせる目的で」読み上げるニュアンスが強いです。一方「read aloud」は単に「声を出して読む」行為自体を指し、聞き手が存在しない場合でも使われます。
recite中立
「recite」は、詩や歌、暗記した文章などを「暗唱する」「朗唱する」といった意味合いが強く、パフォーマンスや記憶に頼る要素が含まれます。「read out」のように単に書かれたものを読み上げるのとは異なります。

「声に出して」という意味で形容詞の「loud」を使うのは不自然です。「read out」が最も一般的で自然な表現です。または「read it aloud」も使えます。

動詞と副詞で構成される句動詞の場合、代名詞（it, themなど）が目的語になる場合は、動詞と副詞の間に挟むのが一般的です。名詞の場合は「read out the report」と「read the report out」の両方が可能です。
学習のコツ
- 💡「～を読み上げる」という意味で、目的語は「read out something」または「read something out」のどちらの形も可能です。ただし、目的語が代名詞の場合は必ず「read it/them out」のように間に挟みます。
- 💡「read」の過去形・過去分詞形は綴りは同じですが、発音は`/rɛd/`（レッド）に変わることに注意しましょう。
