HomeStyle Furniture, one of the nation's leading home furnishing retailers, announced yesterday that it will open 25 new stores across the country over the next 18 months. The expansion represents the company's most ambitious growth plan since its founding in 1998.
CEO Margaret Foster stated at a press conference that the decision to expand was driven by strong consumer demand and favorable market conditions. "Our online sales have grown by 60% over the past two years, but customer surveys consistently show that people still prefer to see and touch furniture before making a purchase," Foster explained. "These new physical locations will complement our digital presence and provide the hands-on experience our customers value."
The new stores will be strategically located in mid-sized cities that currently lack HomeStyle presence. Each location will feature the company's full product line, including its popular eco-friendly furniture collection. The stores will range from 15,000 to 25,000 square feet and will employ between 20 and 35 staff members each.
Industry analysts have responded positively to the announcement. Sarah Williams, a retail analyst at Market Insights Group, noted that HomeStyle's approach of combining online and offline shopping experiences aligns well with current consumer preferences. "Many furniture retailers have struggled to adapt to the digital age," Williams said. "HomeStyle's hybrid model gives them a competitive advantage."
The company has allocated $120 million for the expansion project, which will create approximately 750 new jobs. The first five stores are scheduled to open in June, with the remaining locations launching gradually through fall 2026. HomeStyle currently operates 87 stores in 32 states and employs over 3,200 people.
