When I started junior high school this year, I decided to join the basketball club. I had never played basketball before, but I watched it on TV and thought it looked fun. On the first day of practice, I was nervous because everyone else seemed very skilled.
The coach and senior members were very kind to beginners like me. They taught me how to dribble, pass, and shoot. At first, I couldn't make any baskets, and the ball often went in the wrong direction. But I practiced every day after school. Gradually, I improved and could play simple games with my teammates.
Last month, I played in my first official game. We played against another school, and although we lost, I scored two points. All my teammates cheered for me. The coach said I made good progress. Basketball is now my favorite activity, and I look forward to practice every day.
